Default Honda iPod Link?

I'm buying a new 2006 Honda Civic EX and am interested in the ipod connection. If you have it, how well is it working for you and is it worth the extra money?
Thanks for your input!

i can't say for sure aobut the 06 but i can say that direct ipod to stereo links are very nice.
the FM transmitors suck and the tape deck input things suck too.
however i have a friend who drives a bmw and its got an ipod adapter in the glove compartment, comes standard.
assuming its the same the civic's using now it works really well and i suggest paying a little extra or working a little harder whatever is you have to do to get it, its nice.

The EX has a standard auxiliary jack underneath the power outlet on the front dash. Just get yourself a short connector with a male plug on both ends and you are in business at virtually no cost. Works beautifully.

I have an Alpine headunit that came with a free iPod adapter which plugs into the CD multi-changer socket on the rear of the H/U. The adapter is about 100mm x 80mm in size, so easily fits into the glovebox. I fixed mine with large velcro strips so I can remove it when I leave my car for a long period of time.

I think the Headunit and adapter was about GBP£200 inc VAT (about US$340) which isnt bad (considering it was from Halfords - or is it halfrauds?).

IMO it is priceless, no more cluttered CDs that can get scratched or lost and A1 sound quality everytime. Go on, you know you wanna....

I have the newest alpine face with ipod connection for only 300 bucks.... if you want to get serious about sound then get the stock crap out. Alpine, in my opinion, is by far the best for the $$$. Plus it would still match the interior well since it is that deep blue.
