Default Dome Light

hey, I've got an 05 dx, dome light doesnt work with door switches, I've checked fuses, checked door switches, the light still comes on when I turn it to "on".

any ideas? I do have an aftermarket stereo in, nothing else is malfunctioning though, I still have keyless entry

make sure that you are not putting your switch all the way in either directin, about middle is where 05 civics door switches are.

I think the GRN/RED wire between the multiplex control unit and the dome lights may be broken in the region circled in red in the diagram:

i've heard that putting in aftermarket stereos can disable the dome light. it requires some additional wiring from what i remember.

do a search on the web and you'll see what i mean.

i assume your dome light doesn't come on when you open the car using the keyless remote as well correct?

nope, doesnt come on with keyless entry, I acts in all purposes as if it's in the "OFF" position

and I'll have to check the green/red wire after work today, because I'm anxious to get this fixed, I loved my dome light

macbeth and ronj,

can you guys help me understand. if the dome light is functioning properly wouldn't it turn on with the keyless entry? By the fact that it does not work with the keyless entry nor by the door sensor, I am suspected some wiring issues with the aftermarket radio. I know that the keyless entry circuit was removed from the stock radio, but perhaps, they didn't do the same with the dome light circuitry unless you guys know that the dome light circuitry was also removed from the stock radio.

my question to turgodd is this. Has the dome light ever worked with your keyless entry after the new stereo was put in or did it stop working after you put in the aftermarket stereo? I'm suspecting that during the install, some wiring was either less disconnected or connected in a wrong way.

being that the car is so new, i do not suspect faulty wiring or relays at this point.
