Default Jezb18c3 requires clarification...

hey all. as all of you have seen, i have a b18c in my ef. the actual engine number is b18c3 as u can see is my site name. i have done a lot of looking around and asked too many questions. every time i hace asked, the only answer i get is that the b18c3 is a spoon motor of some sort. also after reading honda tuning magazine which i have as a subscription from the states, they too say that it is a spoon motor in one of there articles. something else that kind of prooves it is that i had a slight miss shift at 8500rpm going from 1st to 2nd and when i looked at the tacho, it was reading 9800rpm with no hesitation or damage to my engine, i cant even find rev limit. can anyone provide me with information on my engine.

No the JDM version is also a C1, the C5 is the ITR engine and it is U.S. spec. The JDM version of that is the B18C there are no numbers at the end. The C1 is the only engine that carries a number at the end of it in Japan and it is the same as the U.S. spec engine other than the ECU. Still 180hp and still 9.5 to 1 compression.

whoa. not quite. mine is an SIR-G motor, gsr equivalent, and its a b18c, but the JDM ones are 10.6:1, and 178-180 (never have cemented down which it actually is) and usdm is b18c1, 10.0:1 and 170 hp.

B18C3 is another version of the C5 (DC2 ITR, as indicated in the picture). And I'd say that plate looks pretty damn Japanese to me.
