Default Newbie with a 95 EX

So about a week ago I got a 1995 Civic EX. Completely stock, 5 speed. Great looking car overall, body is really clean, interior is pristine. It's my first car so I'm still working on the manual driving, but I've got it down for the most part thus far. As far as what mods I'm planning on doing, for now it will just be wheels, tires, and suspension. I'm prolly going to go with either the Rota track r's or group n's, possibly the slipstreams or circuit 8's. As for tires, just whatever I can get with a good rating for a nice price. Suspension wise I'll get either Koni Yellow struts and Ground Control coilovers, or the Omni Power complete coilovers. Then possibily at the end of summer this year, or summer of next year, depending on where and how much I'm working, I'll be doing either a b16a or b18c swap. Along the way I'll be doing some JDM mods, such as one-piece headlights, corner markers, and fog lights. I'll post pictures tomorrow If I can remeber to take them. Thanks for looking.

wow man looks like you got some big plans for your Civ welcome to HCF, good idea with the suspension first, it always makes for a fun daily driver. And good luck on the swap, i'm sure you'll be lovin the DOHC. You ever think about turboing instead of swapping?

Yeah, I've considered going the turbo route, and it's a consideration, however I become more limited for possibly making bigger power that way. And I mean, who doesn't want DOHC VTEC. My older bro has a 1992 accord with a jdm h22a swap, and I love the feel of his, so for me, I just kinda like the idea of a swap a little better. I'm gunna be talking to some guys locally about it when it really gets to the point where I'll be deciding whether to build for turbo or swap the d-series out.

If you go the NA route... the best bones for the buck is a f20b motor ands down.

From the Accord type r's? I know that's prolly wrong I don't remember what they come out of. I would consider it, but do you kno of an online source that ships that motor as a complete changeover? I know hmotorsonline.com has just the longblock http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...amp;item=30013, but I know I'll need mounts and what not for the civic, so it would depend on the feasibility of it.

Thats right, a Euro Accord R. You can snag one on ebay for dirt with an LSD tranny and ecu w/harness. If memory serves me right, they sit in the bay of a civic just like an h22. They are very similar motors in more ways than not. So h22 motor mounts just actaully might make it fit like a glove.

Hmm, I'll look on ebay here shortly, although I'd be more likely to get it off hmotors, because 1300 dollars for the long block isn't much at all, and If the H22 mounts work, I can get those for about 300, then grab a tranny from either a lude or accord. Thanks for the idea man, I might have to take that into consideration.

Yea, that was the swap I was dying to do in me '00 4 door civic... that would have been cool as hell having a 4 door with a bluetop in it. O well. Now Ive got an 99 Si that has a built motor and a turbo set up[8D]

Nice. Yah, I think the F20B swap would be almost Identical to the H22 swap, I could prolly get ahold of an ecu, and then grab a transmission locally. The only thing that I don't see with the F20 is a great deal of after market support, although I haven't looked much. Once it comes time to do the swap though, that's when I'll really get down to looking at it all.
