Hi. I'm looking to buy a civic. I joined this site to see what imput i can get in looking for a used civic.. I'm looking to spend 5 to 6 thousand.. I currently drive an 03 hyundaisata fe. it's been an okay car but i want to get back in with honda cuz i miss hondas. i used to have 2 hondas. my very first car was an 88 civic lx 4dr. automatic. it was very sluggish and only had 92 horsepower but there was something special about it and i loved it...then i sold it and bought a 91 accord ex station wagon automatic. i only paid 1200 for it cuz the guy had to move and get rid of it asap and it was in beautiful condition...but then i crashed it and had to sell it. then after high school i bought a 94 lincoln town car cash car just to get around in..(piece of crap, what a nightmare) and now i drive the hyundai and make monthly payments... i'm in college now so i want something cheaper so that i'm not always broke. some input would be appreciated...not only dat i just miss hondas and i will always have a place in my heart for them..

do u like 2dr or 4dr or ahatch? u could get a 96-00 for 5-6 or u could get a 92-95 for less and put some extra into it for mods ....u looking for one to just drive and not mod or u want to do a lot of moding? if ur looking to mod i would say a 92-95 or an older hatch

Yeah, I would say a 5th gen (92-95)and save some cash for mods. Probably pick a clean one up for ~$2500 +/- and that would leave a nice little kitty for the good stuff.

well, in my area i have looked at some 5th gens and so far no luck, they seem in pretty rough shape and high mileage the ones i saw. there is one 6th gen i found that is white ex coupe 5-speed for 5500 really nice car with 115k. i can pay this car and as i work and get paid slowly mod it.. i like the way 6th gens look also they are nice...but i'm leaning more towards 6th gen even though its tru what u say about extra money for mods, it wouldn't be like i would have no money at all for mods eventually sometime soon...
