well if your going to leave the speakers stock...you dont want the sub to overpower the speakers, so either consider, upgrading the speakers, or dont give the sub as much power...

do you have an after-market head unit? like alpine kenwood, etc.

i have done it in my 01 civic and it worked really well, the sound in my car sounds really good. i got a great deal on my stuff too. the head-unit was a birthday present, but i went to the swap meet and found some excellent rockford fosgate P1 Punchs, 2 12" for $160 alread in the box. and found a alpine monoblock amp for 150 when it retails at 250. just gotta know where to find your stuff, i dont know what kind of budget your on.

You don't need new speakers and you don't need new head unit. You really can't hear that much difference between stock speakers and aftermarket ones, just a little bit difference. To keep everything stock, you need to get a Amplifier that not only has an RCA input but also with an high input. This way they can just hook from your rear speaker wire into the amp. I'd go with one 1in or 12in Subwoofer in a sealed box.

im sorry but i totally have to disagree....i got the infinity components, and some kenwood 6x9 in the back....it brought out new sounds in songs i havent heard from my stock system...If i turned my stock system FULL BLAST, and i was driving on the freeway with my windows up, i could barely hear the music. Now i turn it to about 20, and its rediculously better
