93 civic lx power door locks
this will help me fix 2 cars at the same time so any info is welcomed. I have trouble with my power door locks. i did some research and most of the power door lock problems occur with the 96-2001 models. and all information is on that. i checked for continuity on the switch itself and there was continuity. whats the next step that i should take. the wires from the switch to the acuator or test the acuator first? please describe and good detail what the steps are to find the other things out. thanks in advance..
also there is no keyless entry

so i checked the fuse and the is doesnt look broken...im guessing it works because the little medal n shape inside is not broken or anything so im guessing its good. i have the owners manual and it says to check the control unit input.. what are they referring to..
ok, bringing back a old thread but i dont give a shizz. so i finally bought a digital multimeter (leaning over to unlock all the doors gets annoying) to try and solve my door lock situation. None of the door locks works with the switch. doesnt make a sound or anything when i hit the switch. i tried another switch and still dont work.
this is the multimeter that i bought, but the damn thing didnt come with instructions on what the displays mean and how to check for certain things. (harbor freight).

what icon do i choose to test for what ronj posted. thanks alot.

You should be able to download an online instruction manual for the meter.
Plug red meter probe into hole circled in red.
Plug black meter probe into hole circled in black.
To measure voltage, turn meter dial to position circled in blue.
To measure continuity, turn meter dial to position circled in green. The multimeter may make a beep sound to indicate continuity.

so im guessing i have a broken wire. when i did the first test, there was continuity. when i did the second test, there was no voltage at all. the fuse is good because i took it from the power window fuse, which was working before. i stopped at test 3 because there was still no volts from the battery. so theres a broken wire somewhere, and its hard to find it. im guessing it might be in the bundle that always fold when opening and closing the door.
Yes the wires tend to break there. Find the white and green wire on the car side of the door and push the meter probe through the insulation to check if it is live there. If it is, splice in a new wire across the part that folds, with the splices at places that don't move. The wire going through the hinge area will probably still look OK but the copper is broken inside.
Disconnect the battery before working on the wire because it is always live.
