D16y7
Ok i have a D16y7 sohc (about 106 stock)there is alot of talk about people doing swaps and boosting and just boosting their d-series engines...I was wondering if it would be better for me to either stick with the d16y7 and boost it, or for me to do a swap like a b16 or b18 and thenboost??
I boosted a Y7 for a good while, it did blow but because I was at the track and upped my boost to 18psi butdid not put my 18psi tune on my ecu. It's a ok engine but I suggest a Y8 intake manifold and a 96-00 ex transmission for starters
^ What Marty said.
D series are no more suseptable to "blowing" than any other motor. Most people will tell you to mini me, but your head is fine with a port. The only head worth using unported is a Z6.

Will an intake manifold from a Y8 bolt up to my Y7 Head. I don't want to do the Mini swap, I would prefer to just do the intake manifold and work from there. What do I do for a throttle cable?

a mini-me swap can be quite rewarding... bolt-on 25hp.
