O2 Sensor removal????
i have a 94 civic with a D16, i have a new header on the way, and will be installing myself, is a O2 sensor tool needed, or will a wreanch work?

RE: O2 Sensor removal????
you will need a pretty long socket...if you don't have one long enough....you will need the tool
or if you will be replacing it you could just break it off..that's what i did. |
RE: O2 Sensor removal????
I highly doubt you will need a specialised tool. Mine came out fine with just a spanner on my 98.

RE: O2 Sensor removal????
play it safe and smart, get the special tool, it's 5 bucks it's just a socket you add on to your wrench. do it !!!!
|
RE: O2 Sensor removal????
I diasagree. It's a standard nut, and usually easily accessible. Only get the speacial tool if you are having trouble with just a spanner.

RE: O2 Sensor removal????
the only thing with the "special tool" is it's a socket with a hole down the side to accomidate for the wires, use a wrench, or if you dont care about the sensor, snip the wire and use a normal deep socket.

RE: O2 Sensor removal????
unclip the harness, use an open ended wrench and you'll be fine. Just dont use any lubricant to remove the sensor if its still working properly because the lubricant could damage the sensor.

RE: O2 Sensor removal????
I took all of mine off with a wrench when i put my header on. It was fairly easy if there is nothing seized on it. don't let all the special tools fool you, they are not necessary but they do make things a little easier.
