Sup guys. Does the 05 ex civics keyless entry use the headunit like the older generation? My buddy got an 05 and wants me to do the headunit but i wanna kno if the keyless uses the headunit..............also how big is the dash hole for the stocker? Do i need a dash kit? Thanks ~Pete

No it doesnt use the HU for the keyless and yes you need a dash kit.

Lev is right you will definatley need a dash kit. Those 7th gens have a funky center console.

hi guys, i've been reading threads here regarding aftermarket headunit installation and i can see that some civics have the OEM headunit wired to the keyless entry. So if you change HU you literally will lose your keyless entry system. From this thread it seems like 05 does not have that problem anymore (i have an 05LX), but i see an 'anti theft' light blinking on the stock HU. Would there be a problem if I change to a hi power aftermarket one? Thanks.

No...not at all, that LED on the factory radio, is for the raadio only.
