1993 Civic Install..

Default 1993 Civic Install..

I am gonna help out a friend install a couple amps in his civic where do I run power wires and such.. Pictures speak a thousand words, any gromet I run it through the firewall?

i have no pics yet, but is the car an auto or manual? if auto, there is a grommet in the firewall where the clutch would have gone (under the dash). Most installers would use that. You'll want to pull all the plastics on the bottom of the drivers side and run all the power lines down that side to the trunk. RCA signal cables will need to either be shielded or be run on the passenger side to avoid interference from the power line.

On a '93 the battery is on the other side of the car, so using the clutch hole would be quite a bit of extra wire. Instead, poke a hole in the grommet where the stock main harness goes through near the battery. Make sure your power wire is surrounded by the rubber, do not run it beside the grommet so it is touching metal. Then run the power wire back along the right side of the car.
