RE: 2 12s
how did you end up with the battery wire underneath the car? did you go through the firewall? like through a gromet? most civics, as far as i know, just below the plate that holds the battery, there is a gromet with a rubber liner that there are already a bunch of wires going through, most of them to the heater motor i believe. if you can get the battery wire through that gromet (which isa pain in the ***) the wire will come out just below your glove compartment. then you just run the wire under the plastic cover along the side of the car. then you shouldnt have to worry about your cable being outside the car at all.
by the way, if anybody reads this and see's something wrong with what ive said or something that im mistaken about please let me know because honestly i dont know **** about civics and im trying to learn being as i just got my first civic about a month ago. (96 ex coupe)

If your saying you just drilled a hole through the raw metal and poked the wire through there, then yes. You will want to run out and buy a little grommet somewhere, like Autozone, or find something to line that hole so that over time the wire won't rub itself raw, and create a short.
You could probably just throw alot of electrical tape around the section of the wire that goes through the hole, but that would be "rigging".
