hi there ive got a 1990 civic vtec and was thinkin of takin the drivers side rear seat out meaning itll only be a 3 seater as the seats r cut in half. but would it sound good if i replace the seat with a big custom made sub box with a 12" kicker inside the car and on the same box but facing the boot a 15" kicker.. and what does porting mean does it bring out da low bass from a sub because i preper low bass to pounding bass.. i like the low vibration.. would be greatful if sum1 can help me, b

 

To be honest with you, its gonna look like crap and your giving a theif a reason to break in your car.

 

i actually saw this one Overhaulin' episode (show where these guys steal someones car for a week and completely change it for the extreme better) where they pulled out the back seat and made a brand new one and all it was was a huge speaker box, i mean they had 6 woofers in their back seat, and you couldnt tell that there was that much power in it b/c it was all hidden under the seat

 

well to be honest with u dude.......if u dont even kno what a port on a box is........then i dont really think u should be trying to build a custom enclosure like that...........its not easy

oh and the put 6 kicker l7s in those back seats, u do the math. and people do that all the time, my back seats were a big flame box for my audiobahns in my probe

 

i used to have 2 audiobahns and with 1500 TRUE watts..........TOOOO LOUD....now just 1 infinity perfect 12.....good enuf fo me........yo DCA check my "Porting a box" post

well in uk theift isnt that much of an issue specially where i live as to wether or not i kno wot port is doesnt concern how a custom made box is ganna be manufactured as my friend is a carpenter and im a design engineer so i jst give him da dimensions.. im not boverd wether or not it looks good.. i jst want good sound and wanna be able to get to my spare wheel jst incase i get a flat tire as its an everyday car for me. so i jst wantd sum advice wether it wud sound good or not and wether puttin ports in the box will give it the low bass im lookin 4...b

 

if you aren't even going to have it made out of fiberglass i'd scrap that idea. it would look terrible and then some.
