Default 8th gen civic audio question

hey guys,

ive just purchesed my '07 civic 4dr sedan, but in australia so not sure what the equivlent in DX EX would be etc, but in aus its a vTi-L. Anyways, im planning to get an amp and a couple of subs for my car, and i was wondering if it were possible to wire these in with the OEM honda head unit? this is because of the car alarm etc etc thats already built into it. Also any advice/experiences anyone has had with doing this would be great, and would this soundOK with the OEM speakers in the car?Cheers!

A good hi-to-low converter, and you can use the rear speakers for your signal. Get one (like the peripheral SVENR) that creates a turn on signal for your amp. This unit when it sences an audio signal, creates a low amperage trigger to turn your amp on. This way you don't need to wire it to your ignition. The most dificult part of this, is getting a power wire thru the firewall. Have fun.
