Default 95 accord speakers

ok so im gunna buy my girlfriend some speakers for her 95 accord as a late christmas present. she currently has 1 working... but blown.. speaker in the drivers side door of her car.

i want to get her some decent speakers for around or under 300 bux. probably some alpines.

i need some recommendations for what you guys think are the best speakers in that price range and i also need to know what size i should get for the rear deck. will 6x9's fit back there? because the online sizing chart said that 6 1/2" speakers are supposed to go there. would i be fine getting four 6 1/2's? or should i get two 6 1/2's for the front doors and two 6x9's for the rears for a nice bass kick.?

im hopin to have these by saturday so help asap would be amazing.

thanks. = )

it should be 6 1/2" for the front and 6X9 in the back.

Are they going to be amplified? If not don't bother spending so much, it won't make the biggest different. Get some cheap coaxials for about 50 bucks, go to best buy or any store that has speakers on display, and check them out and see what you think sounds the best. Afterwards let us know what are your top pics, me, or somebody else can tell you which are good and which are bad, from there buy the speakers online.
Some speakers to stay away from though are sony, rockford (to some these may sound good but they don't tend to have a long life span), pyle and dual

i would recommend getting some phoenix gold rsd65cs for the front and getting a nice amp for them. if she plans to have a sub i would not get the rear fills

i bought her some 6 1/2" alpines for the front. she's not gunna get subs so im gunna get her some rears. i just wanted to make sure 6x9's would fit back there because a fitment guide i saw said it fits 6 1/2's back there.

might i ask as well why sony has bad speakers? ive had sony xplod speakers in my civic for 2 years and they still sound as good as ever. i had 2 sony 12" xplod subs that performed amazingly. only problem ive had with sony is the amp. it overheats and shuts off quickly under load. but i give sony speakers 2 thumbs up for performance, reliability and SQ.

I, as well as everyone else I know that is into car audio, cannot stand sony's xplods with a passion. They do not sound good in our opinions, they are not very strong (the speaker cones are flimsy) and as our sayings go "plastic material gets you plastic sound." Compare the material of a sony xplod to other speaker material, it's just not strong at all. Their coils are also thin and this doesn't help them either. Even with their flimsy cone they have a terrible sensitivity for their speakers, making them not put out as much power as they should for such light cones. The majority of sonys, especially ones at wal-mart, are factory replacement speakers, not performance speakers. Also you can often tell a speaker's quality by whether or not they are referencing peak or RMS handling, because a true audio enthusiast understand the uselessness of PEAK power, but the average consumer finds the numbers amazing.
Sony's black subs are the only ones I'd consider, those ones are not as bad. I myself had sony, they were loud as ever but sounded terrible, this was around three years ago.

There's the picture of them and my retarded flip flop trunk.
Sony speakers were not designed for performance, they are factory replacements, amplified they won't sound as good as other speakers in the same price line, they are flimsy and have terrible wiring, not to mention not that attractive to most.

I'm not saying that they are like, terrible. To me in all honesty it takes a keen ear to tell the difference between a lot of speakers, and even the differences are often so small it doesn't make much difference to an average consumer.
But to me, due to the price range of such speakers, their reputation of having subs that easily blow, amps that easily heat, and weak speakers, I would see no reason in getting a pair.
