Default Air space in trunk???

I was wondering what is the biggest box i can make to fit in my 96 Civic EX. I'm trying to think of the best way to get the most airspace in there without going into fiberglass. The box i have in there now, in order to make it fit Ihad to remove the back seat to fit it through into the trunk and I also had to bend the middle support for the seats down. I have the whole trunk cardboard floor out of it plus the spare tire. I just feel like i could have more sound from my 15' Alpine Type-R. It's a big sub and i'm trying to get it the most air possible. Any suggestions will be appreciated GREATLY! Thanks in advance!

O.K. First off. Bigger box, DOES NOT mean more sound.

Read through this entire website: Basic Car Audio Electronics

Then if you still have any questions ask.

Wait.. so do you only have 1 15 inch sub?

Theres no way it should take up that much room.. even if it's ported

I still have my floor in mine, (and the spare tire and stuff) and I have 4 10 inches, with 2 in a slot box and 2 in a bandpass... with about 10 inches on both sides to put stuff.

How big of a box do you have?

You probably could fit 2 15's ported in the trunk pretty easily.. especially with the tire gone...

Give it ~2.6 cubes max, idk what you have now. How much power you have? Type-Rs can eat a lot more than spec.

bigger isnt neccessarily better. my friend built a box for 1 12" and it sounded distorted cause it was alittle bigger than recommended.
