Air space in trunk???
wow guys sorry i didn't reply! When i posted this i was running on a lack of sleep and remembered finally. I think i may need to port it right, I don't think I got the size quite right. I suppose why i think i need to build a new box is the fact i used to have 1 12' Power Acoustik Fubar running less power in a larger box and it seems louder than my 15' i have now, and I payed twice as much for my 15. It just frustrates mefor the fact i spentso much money on this sub and i'm not totally impressed. Don't get mewrong it plays loud and clear, just not loud enough. It's rated at 750 watts RMS I believe, and i'm running about 650 RMS to it right now. Can maybe someone suggest some box dimensions for the sub?? I would GREATLY appreciate it and also a port size suggestion. Also, does port placement on the box matter?? Thanks in advance guys!!!
well if your close to the right power just go by the manufactures sugested box........
i say always go ported if ya can
but it you REALY wanna build the largest box you can... build a box for the spare tire..... and build it level with some MDF across the whole thing and then build another box to go over the top of that... then with some 2-3inch wide strips and some liquid nail overlap the 2 pieces of MDF and screw the strips over the crack and the liquid nail.... then you can use that spare tire space and not do any fiberglassing.......... thats how ill be doing my box when i redue it HOPEFULLY next month before my car show... but $$ wise its not looking like ill have enough time and money to do the rebuild with the new amplifier in time
BUT anyways to get the largest box in the trunk you realy have to BUILD IT.... and if you realy want the largest box in the trunk youll have to use some ingenuity to actualy build the box piece by piece inside the trunk.... which can be done! just takes alittle more thought when building it..... like some 2x2s on the inside corners of the box walls so you can screw thru it and then into the outter wall.... and then with your largest opening then screw the final piece on the box.
im sure you can fit TWO 15s in thier with some building plans like that...
personaly id leave the final piece from behind the rear seat so leave the most room to get inside the box to screw it all together...
but if you do try... just remember after EVERY PIECE YOU CUT..... measure twice and test fit every piece! piece by piece! dont just asume your box plan will fit and work from start to finish all at one time... dont want to say how many times ive screwed up by not taking into account the WHOLE box going into the openings to get into the trunk.LMFAO

lol exactly why I had to remove the rear seat and do all of that "persuading" to get it in there. I don't remember the exact dimensions but i'll look for the manual around here or do some searching online. Pretty much i want the most db's possible.
