Default Alpine CD Changer issue

Hey all:

My Fiancee's 98' Civic is having CD changer issues. The CD Changer in it came as a factory Option (as far as I know (its an Alpine model CHM-S620 6-disc changer).

The issue is: The factory head unit dosen't reconize the CD changer at all (where the tape/cd selector button is). I've looked in the back (where the changer is mounted) and everything is ok there. I am curious if any of you guys have ideas as to whats up with it? The only other thing I can think of is something is "loose" in the dash, behind the head unit, but i'm not about to pull it out and look, as I don't know much about the civic.

If anyone has had any similiar issues, or has any ideas..
Any clues would be appreciated thanks!!

Default RE: Alpine CD Changer issue

well i dont think its a factory option... at least ive never heard of it being one.....

look for a controler or any extra switches.....

most likely its activated thru the antena wire with a FM modular and a wired controler to control the changer.....
