im hella confused......im gettin 2 of these infinity subs and i dunno what wattage of an amp to get, it says 350 rms but 1400 peak power, do i get somethin closer to 1400watts or like 800watts or 400watts??!?? im lookin to get the most out of them without spending like 300$ on an amp, but the way ctrutchfield is set up it say like 180 waaats X 2 now that doesnt sound powerful to me but i have no idea wat is going on lol somebody plz tell me the deal THANK YOU

when the rating on the sub says -- it says 350 RMS -- that means that's the least amount of power it can take to sound decent

when it says-- 1400 peak power-- that means the most it can take before distorting or blowing up

get a amp that's 800 watts to 1000 watts RMS ,

if you get a 2 channel amp that's bridgeable and it says 600 watts RMS , you can bridge it so it can go up to 1200 watts PRMS
when you bridge it you ll get more then the RMS amount , the thumb rule is double the RMS amount
most amps don't put out what they claim and its not against the law either because when the engineer gives the wattage rating it calculates the amount at idle ( basically on and not hooked up ) , when you buy a name brand amp they will usually be really good on giving you the power you need and listing the correct wattage. usually these amps will be in the 400$ and up range for 800 watts , allot of places have them cheaper just depends on how many they have in stock ,

if you go online or to a swap meat and see a amp that's the size of a text book and it says --2000watts-- ahh turn around and go somewhere else because amps like that need big displacement and cant be small

AMPS TO LOOK FOR

PPI ( precision power inc ) , Orion , JL audio , kicker , eclipse ,Rockford fosgate , ma audio , Kenwood ++ this order goes from best to not bad

The RMS isn't the minimum value it can take to sound good. The RMS is the max you should continuously run the sub at. The Max/Peak rating is the most it can safely take in short bursts. Run a sub at max wattage continuously and you will fry it.

That amp would work fine for two of those subs. You'd just wire them in parallel to give 2 ohms impedance.

It doesn't list the RMS wattage for the amp. If you're tight for money, this one would suffice:
