RE: amp choice
Your going to want 1 of two things, a Mono block Subwoofer 1 channel amp that provides at least 500 watts @ 4 ohms power, or a 2 channel amp thats bridgeable and safe to 4 ohms, also providing at least 500 watts of RMS power at that 4 ohms.
So your looking at something 1000 watts ish, but read the fine print and make certain that it provides at least 500RMS watts @ 4ohms. You will have to wire your subs up normaly, + to+, and - to -, it will result in the amp seeing a 4ohm load, thats the best you can get.
If you need help looking, or are on a budget, shoot us a spending limit and we will pick some decent buys out for you.

RE: amp choice
What kind of money can you afford to put into your amp?
If you ask me, the amp selection is crucial, twice as crucial as speakers.
I have heard a set ofolder Sony 8ohm single voice coil 300 watt subs on a very good amp, and they were virtualy impossible to blow, despite having double the advertised power.
Almost any sub will give you bass, but only few amps will make you like it.
Thats the way I think anyway.

RE: amp choice
yea i have 2 10's in a box, with a really bad amp, so my speakers , and sub cant reach their potential becuase if i turn it past 20, the amp starts to cut out, and my speakers could easily go louder, and my subs could easily bump harder....so dont be cheap on the amp

RE: amp choice
Ok, first off, here's your diagram. This can be used with a 1 channel monoblock amp, or with a 2 channel amp in bridged 4ohm mode, meaning you are using 1 L positive lead, and 1 R negative lead, creating 1 channel output that you will splice into the 2 speakers.
You have alot of options really, it just depends on what you want to spend. You can really get a good amp for not that much money, and still have the ability to upgrade subs if you ever decide to.
Here's your wiring diagram.
Here are some quick choices, I am using this website because they seem to have the best prices.
Mono sub amps:
Apline - $280.00
JL Audio - $400.00
Infinity - $300.00
MA-Audio- $250.00
These are some great choices, and the prices are pretty decent. The MA Audio amps are a local brand, I see them alot, and plan on buying one of their setups whenever i get some extra funds. They have subs that will hold up to 5000 watts of RMS power, and amps that will push every bit of it. They are mainly for competition use however, and wouldn't suit me much in a small honda enclosure, lol.
IN fact they have one on sale right now, This amp is only $100.00 bucks, and offers 400RMS at your 4 ohm load, 200 per speaker. An excellent deal if you want to save a buck, plus a warranty to boot.
