Default amp shuts off..............

this is so weird..............alright well i got 2 12 kicker comp cvr's with a 500 watt xplod amp.

i dunno if anyone else has this problem but, when i turn my music up to like 21 the amp just shuts off untill i turn my car off then turn it back on, then its fine. but if i have the music on 19 or below, it never shuts off. anything from 21-over just shuts off in a few seconds. why does it do this?

what can i do to stop this?

thanks in advance

I have an xplod amp as well. And yes I have the same problem. Mine only shuts off tho if it gets a sudden huge hit. Like at the beginning of a sng or something and it just suddenly hits hard it shuts off. Occasionally if there's a long loud bass section it will like overpower the amp and it will turn off. That's just how xplod amps are. I've heard that same thing from everyone who's had them. My advice would be.. Don't turn it up past 19. Haha. But I'm sure stumasters will post n tell you how to fix it cuz he's the sub/amp guru. Lol

My advice would be, if you want more volume, trade your amp out, for something more professional in nature. A kicker amp would be a decent upgrade, if you can find one on ebay for a good price.

If you need suggestions, let us know what the subs are, single or dual voice coil, and what RMS power raiting they hold, we will figure something out for ya.

I need to know if they are 2 or 4 ohms though, thats the most important spec. I'll check back later.

+1 for protect mode, you might be pulling too much power to your amp and its putting into that mode.

could be that protect mode thing. cause my gain is all the way up and it slams for a 500 watt amp.

4 ohm subs
