I'm thinking about revamping my system with two Alpine type R 12's.I was looking at a 2 channel 1000 watt kenwood amp. Would this be enough for the subs? or should I look for something bigger? thanks

The power range on the Alpine Type Rs is 200-500 watts (RMS). So you want the RMS output of your amp to be about middle of theroad, so around 350-400 watts per channel.
