You don't think JL makes quality sounding subs?
Who do do you like for qaulity?
They make a quality product. But no way are w7's and all that jazz a listenting sub.
I have a different opinion on this. The W7 is a great sq sub when used that way. JL makes stuff for SQL which is a mix of sound quality and spl. Most use the W7 with SPL in mind but in the end the W7 shines in a mid sized sealed box with around double it's recomended power like a 12W7 has a 750rms rating but put it in around a 2 cu ft sealed box that is braced correctly with around 1200rms on it and it will hit every beat, drop as low as you need it, and still not sag on the upper freq.

On the amp question I am a huge fan of the older JBL powervalve series amps, IMHO best bang for the buck. I have also had great luck with MTX amps. If you have the loot jump up on a JBL/Crown amp.

I remember those old jbls. You are right, they were great. Im currently a fan of the BP series.

Btw, your opinion was very good. Thank you for your comment.

Look if your looking for a clean install, just use a jl500/1 or jl1000/1 these are both very high quality amps. I've seen and heard many things, and nothing sounds as well as a well put together jl audio system. Just look at all of the rich people where money is not an issue and see what it is they use, jl audio. I f you have the speed channel wacth Unique whips. He does celebrity cars and thats what he usually uses.

Well, amp wise, no competition except between JL and Crossfire, they are the best of the best my man (they cost money though) but trust me there, you won be let down (i got 2 W3's and mono block crossfire vr1000d pushes them to the limit, frind has W7's, 2 vr1000d's push them to extreams, hear him coming 10 blocks away)

I bought a fosgate about 4 years ago, pounded the system almost everyday pretty high. Never overheated, and system sounded better than what other people had. (there was a guy with a 1200 watt system with two 15, and my 900 watt 2 12's hit harder than his). I am staying with fosgate.
