Default Anzo Headlight Question - Halogen vs HID

I'm looking at getting some of the Anzo front headlights for my '00 civic. I really like the look of them.

http://www.procivic.com/pages-produc...852/index.html

Unfortunately, the low-beams on these are Halogen projectors. From what I have read, it's not smart to put HIDs in Halogen projectors. Well, I really want HIDs if at all possible and I was wondering if they sell any similar headlight designs that are HID projectors. Or will I be forced to buy the Anzo's and convert the H3 low-beams to HIDs using a $200 conversion kit?

I keep saying low-beams because from what I have read, high-beam HIDs aren't practical. Eliminating flash-to-pass ability due to the long warm-up times and HIDs supposedly have a low number of lifetime cycles (turn on and off), etc.

Would an HID conversion even be worth it? From all my HID usin' buddies they really like 'em, but they came stock on most of their cars.

Thanks!

I might be doing the exact same. I remember when I bought off of Mobile HID that they build there bulbs to stock height so It might work. I've read the reason why It doesn't work is because most Xenons are longer then stock halogens there for don't work with halogen projectors. At least I'm going to try it out.

Read this article and you'll know what I mean.

I'm quoting basbal123 on Mobile HID where I purchased my bixenon bulbs from.

yup actually this company design there bulbs the same length as stock halogen bulbs sso you get the same exact beam pattern as stock bulbs
the pic shows a single beam but the lengths are exactly the same

They're not Bi-xenon so you're going to lose your high beam function also Bi-xenon are a lot more expensive. Talk to basbal123 and you might be able to get a deal don't quote me on it though.

Lol so I emailed Anzo just for the hell of it and asked what their thoughts on using HIDs in their products (specifically my projector lights). Here was their response:

We usually suggest customer to not use HID with product and the reason is that we have run in to an incident a few years back where a customer use HID and melt the housing. So far we are unable to replicate what had happen and we do use HID in our own car with our product. Since that incident we do not recommend using HID.
I'd say the Mobile HID lights would work since they claim to be the same size. I just thought the fact they use HIDs in their products but recommend against it is hilarious.

Is that $130 for a HID conversion kit, complete with ballasts etc, or just the bulbs?

Yup thats a basic low beam conversion. with harness, ballasts, bulbs , zip ties.

But Remember that 130 is only for Low Beam.. to get Bixenons it will cost you abit more. I didn't wish to lose my High beam function so I opted for the higher model.

http://www.mobilehid.com/specialorder.htm

If you want high beams you'll want to order the "Dual xenon HID conversion kits for H13, H4, and 9007."

Yes it's $360, but I wanted to have High beams and I'm glad I ordered them.
