Default Aux input adapter for oem radio?

Does anyone make a good quality aux adapter that plugs into the cd player/tape jack in the back of the oem head unit? I took the cd player out to do the 99-00 style cupholders so i dont have anything plugged into the cdplayer input on the head unit anyway. Im running my iPod to an FM radio transmitter thing and I dont like it so i want to do something better.

I remember the FM transmitters! I also remember throwing it in the trash within the first week of owning it. LOL

Anyways, I don't think anyone makes an adaptor to plug into back of the OE head unit where the OE CD/tape player goes for you to use an Ipod or what not.

Why not get an aftermarket headunit? Many budget HU's under $100 can get you an aux input, or a usb input. USB would be better since it would charge your Ipod while playing it I believe. Also, with the non-OE headunit, you would getting better sound, since the stock HU puts out a feeble 12-15w to each speaker I believe (unless you have the speakers wired to an amp, then it wouldnt matter). Most aftermarket HU starts off at around 35w for each speaker.

Every time i have an aftermarket HU my window gets busted and it gets jacked. The last time however I packed the space between the head and the plastic dash adapter thing with TONS of jb weld so the person that jacked it had to take the entire jb-brick and probably carve out the ****ty jensen head to sell it or whatever.
I have a jvc head thats decent that I used to have in the civic but i took it and my subs out after a lot of neighbors cars were getting broken into again. I'll probably just stick to the fm transmitter thing i suppose.

Car alarms stop thieves who dont know what they are doing. For someone who knows what is what on the car, a simple alarm will not do anything IMO.

RC, have you thought about relocating the hood latch? It usually runs in the driver side fender well. This is a big weakness on Civics since the thief can pull it, open the hood and disconnect the battery, rendering the alarm useless. The alarm is usually not tied to the hood, so it would not go off.

But then, you can get crazy with it. Like have a separate battery for the alarm system, have a push start button for the car, but when pressed, the alarm goes off, no car start, and kill switches.

Do you still have the 96-98 cup holder? Doesn't that have the flip up lid so that you can block the radio from showing down there? If so, relocate the radio down there, and flip the lid up everytime you walk away from the car, you will not be able to see the aftermarket HU from looking through the windows.

Why not get one with a removable faceplate? Every HU that I've owned and every HU that I will ever own will have a removable faceplate. In fact, the faceplate of my HU is never attached to the deck unless I'm sitting in the car. Even if I go to say Walmart at 1:00 in the afternoon in broad daylight, I remove the faceplate.

Do you bring the face plate in Wal-mart with you? (going along with the example you provided)

If not (like many people), thieves know many people put the face plate in the glove box etc. Removing the face plate is another one of those deterring idiot thieves things. Not saying it wont help though.

Nope, I leave it in its case in the glove box. I just assume that a thief will look in and see that there's no faceplate on the HU and just move on to an easier target (a car with a faceplate on the HU).

just get an alarm system, a theif isnt going to take the time to find a way into your hood so he can disconnect the battery and then break into your car.. not for a cheap *** headunit atleast

if ur OEM unit accepts a CD changer attachment (see a DIN jack?), u maybe able to find an adapter for it. Else it's gonna be cheaper, ezier to get an aftermarket head.
