Default Bass over powering voice in speakers

Ok,this is for a friend. He got a hole system installed last year, Bass, speakers, mids, highs, tweaters. The problem is that he cant hear the voices of the song because the bass kills it. He said he played around with the settings but it didnt make a differeance. What would he have to upgrade to be able to get good vocals with the bass?

Thanks

sounds like the component speakers like mids and hi's could stand an upgrade. Is everything amp'd or just the bass?

make sure he doesn't have the bass boost on his amp turnedon, if applicable. turn the gain all the way down on the amp. use stereo to change the frequencies of the lows and highs of the mid speakers. turn the bass down and turn treble up. turn the fade to where the front speakers are louder than the rear. just a few hints if he hasn't tried them yet.

If the speakers are amp'd, maybe he hit the LP switch on the amp and it isn't sending any higher freq to the speakers?

Im wondering if he has an equalizer.
That way he can equalize the bass
and voice coming from the speakers.

whatever you do your always gonna have this problem....you can add more speakers or get a bigger amp but when you have pretty decent bass its freq kills the freq of the mids and highs.....i had this problem and when i got my bigger amp it helped and i could hear them better and over my bass but like i said your never gonna just be able to overpower your bass.

turning down the gain on the amp for the subs is what i was going to suggest as well, or turning the gain on the headunit higher
