Default Best 6x9's for less than $100

My sister just blew her 6x9's in her Grand Am. I'm going to buy her some for her birthday, I was wondering what you guys thought was the best brand for under a hundred bucks. She does have a monsoon sound system from the factory, so I want something decent. Let me know what you guys think.

Not to bash, but I had RF 6x9's once and they blew ***.

But if you really want to get her a nice setup, get her some adapter plates and some 6" coaxials instead of 6x9's... they'll sound better. Oh and +1 for eclipse.

^ What he said.
Rockford Fosgate is no where close to the reputable, high quality brand it once was. I wouldn't waste my money on anything from RF.
6x9's suck, and will never sound very good - sound waves are circular, not oval. So they will never be able to correctly recreate the music coming from your cds.
A 6" adapter would be a very good idea.

Eclipse owns, hands down. I can't say enough good things about all my experiences with Eclipse hu's, speakers, and subs.

double ditto

Jbls or Infinity Reference will be your best bet in the $100 range.

Some might suggest Alpine but honestly, its like Pioneer, if you dont drop a good dollar, its gonna suck.

well i do work at a custom car place that does ALOT of stereo installs so yes i do know quality. granted they are no kappa but for the price they are worth it. granted you could have heard them in a different vehicle or a different volume enclosure so that could make a huge difference as well.
