You work at "a custom car place" and you put speakers in enclosures? [sm=bs.gif]
Those speakers are made to be used in free air applications.

ya and what happens when you run out of space for other speakers? you make custom enclosures like i had for my hatch. btw, this is the link to where i work. forty can back me up if you think im just making up **** and dont think i actually work there.

i got my alpine type r 6x9's off ebay for $90. they sound better than my friends rf's.

I could understand mounting them to a custom baffle of some sort if you didn't have room.
But they just flat out aren't made to be in enclosures.

I've been a lot more impressed with the Type R subs that I have with the component and coax speakers. However, I'd take any comparable Eclipse product over an Alpine.

It really comes down to the guy buying the speakers though. Why don't you just go check out a few local car audio shops and find which ones in your price range sound best to YOU.

idk if i explained that right. they were mounted to a custom fiberglass cover that fit over the back hatch in a 1990 civic hatchback. the two 6x9s were right next to the rear pillar and there were two sets of 6.5 just inside those. i know that may have been a little over kill but it looked pretty tight.
