blown speacer?
For thoseof you that remember, a while bac i was ascing about installig rear speacers, and had sony head unit and sony front speacers. Well the setup has changed quite a bit. I now have a pioneer premier DEH-P5901B head unit(awsome made especially for ipod, you can control iot and see playlists and everything with the hu, just hide the ipod in the glovebox, and it charges the ipod too!) with the sony front speacers still, but i removed the rear 6*9 speaers, and installed 2 10" rf punch subs, and a high rms jbl amp that was recommended on here a while bac. Anyways,. my left speaer seems quiter for a while, and since the install of the new hu, even worse. Should i toss those sony out of there and try some new speaers? or do i have a wire issue with the left speacer? And what would it be? P.S. I cant spell the letter cay ( u now i spilt a drin on the laptop) Thans for any advice guys!
shewww! i was gonna say this guy sounds like a tard, my heart goes out to you and your delinquent K button though.
if u have a multimeter check the resistane between the two terminals on the speaker, it should read at about 4ohms if it doesnt its blown, if it does read at 4ohms it doesnt neccasarily mean its good, try hooking it up the the wiring for the other speaker that is back there, if it still sounds bad or quiet u got a blown speaker if it sounds good and loud then you have a wiring demon to chase down. if it is a wiring issue from my expierence it is just a better idea to run new wire from the speakers all the way to the headunit and just completly bypass all factory wiring.

well thanks for not thinking im a tard, lol, by the way im using copy and paste to get the letter k on this writing here.My laptop also beeps alot for no reason on start up know also[:@]I will be getting it fixed though. Anyways, I took the car out this morning, and the left speaker was fine, Is it possible, because im using the ipod for the music, that some of my ripped songs would sound like that, or did a loose wire jiggle a bit and fixed itself, I will keep an eye on it anyways, thanks for the help and advice Jeff, I let you know if it happens again today and if i try a fix there after.
well its a sony... its preaty crapy.... see what hapens is thier crapy tensil wires fray WAY TO EASILY!!! and tho most the time they sound fine but ya hit a bump and they move and dont make hardly any contact..
if your cheap right now... remove the speaker and look for a black frayed spot in the tensil wire... that from the wire terminal that goes into the cone from the back side... then with a soldering iron just dab alittle dot of solder RIGHT ON THAT BLACK FRAYED SPOT.. and then it should work for awhile no problem... BUT dont put that much solder on it or it will stiffen the wire and not allow it to flex with the speaker..

well its working again now, im going to relace the front and rear speaers with some infinity's or the alpine type r's. I want to rid of the sony stuff, I mean I did with the hu and now the 6*9, so.....
