Default Burned two fuses...

1.) Cant seem to figure out if my fuse is just plain to low or if its something else, maybe turning the gain to high on a amp?

I read somewhere else someone that had a similar problem that a possible cause was a short because the wire was touching metal... and I remebered I didnt fish the wire through that rubber thing on the fire wall (was too hard to get my huge hands to even move dat rubber groumet).

Basically I dunno what kind of fuse I have, but it is powering two amps.
One amp is a (Alpine MRP-M650 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms) and its pushing two (Infinity Perfect 10.1 10" 4-ohm Component Subwoofer).

Another amp is pushing my component speakers (tweeters, woofers and cross over im assuming because I did not install it myself). I do not know what the specs are for the speakers nor the amp.

Basically the 2nd amp shares its power and remote cable with the slots as the 1st amp.

Any other information you need please just post it here.

2.) Also my amp for the component has a option to do high, low and both... Should I be using both since I have a crossover (should) or should i keep it on high since my 10s are handling the lows. I have the alpine filter set to 40ish.

If you did not do that install, and you know who did, they should be slapped!
What is the second amp? If you have 2 amps, get 4 awg cable and put it to a dist. block with 2 seperate fuses. from the dist. block you could use 8awg cable.
Your pulling TO MUCH current thru that 8g., the black burned color tells the story.
(the melting does too) you will have some nasty sparks, or maybe even a cool fire! Get it fixed.

I have that same amp and I am running 8 gauge bust just for that amp. That thing draws some power and trying to run 2 of those on that same wire gauge is a big nono. That fuse isn't even rated close to how much amps usually flow with 2 amps not to mention the wire itself. Get another 8 gauge wire kit and hook it up separately to one of the amps.

Yes that is correct. Your battery can handle/supply the amps, but the individual wire and the fuse can't handle that many so you gotta split it up. You could probably go with 4 gauge, but splitting up I would just use 8 gauge on each one. I have that same MRP-M650 amp as you for 1 12" type R sub and also the MRP-F550 4 channel amplifier for my 4 type r speakers and 1 8 gauge for each one handles it fine. Check out www.knukonceptz.com if you need some more wire, they got really great deals on amp kits and stuff.

Will it be okay if the power cables run next to each other along the car and through the firewall.

Im still kind of worried that the first power cable i have is touching the metal part of the firewall (Too lazy to strugle getting it through the rubber part with my giant hands and such a small space to work with).
Or is that not big of a deal.

Also a 2 60 amp fuses will be okay correct? Also would it be cheaper to buy a whole kit or buy a fuse and a power cable (since I have ground and rcas for the other amp already)

ya not sure what size wire that is but it looks like 8 gauge. you need at least 4gauge and dont be so ghetto spliting that wire off... use a distribution block in the rear to split off the power wires.

also for the firewall if your hands cannt get up there right then go to any autoparts store are simply buy 1ft of rubber hose to put over the power wire.... simply slit the rubber hose open long ways and slide it over your power wire... then with alittle electrical tape tape the hose inplace so it wont move.... this will at least give the wire a supper thick jacket that it unlikely to wear thru.

Okay about power blocks for a cleaner install is it possible to get two power blocks that are one 4 guage in two 8 guage out and use one for my grounds. Or would I have to get a ground distrubition block.

Thanks for all the replies.

for the ground simply use 2 ground wires to a common point. just do not ghetto up the power wire like that... definatly not good...
id suggest buying some proper terminals to put the wires into the amp also... the remote wires are not a big deal to split them off like that... but the power wire is horible! your risking burning up the amplifier with it just laying around like that!!!!! all it takes is a few tiny strands of the wires to touch the remote terminal or ground that can damage the amplifier or even the headunit.

so use the proper terminal for the amplifier wires and if you have stray wires hanging out of the crimp terminals then get some electrical tape tape up the wires and terminal. that will prevent any stray strands of wire from shorting out on the wrong terminal!
