Default A/C components etc

Hi, previous owner on my del sol stripped out A/C (for obvious reasons!)

However, atm i have a d15, but will be swapping to a b16 at some point.

I've been told if i get an A/C it has to be compatible with the engine, and a d15 A/C and a b16 A/C are different then i guess? Is that correct?

My next question would be, what are all the parts i'd need for a complete A/C system. (the only thing i do have is what is inside the dash-with **** etc) no tubes or computer. What do i need to have A/C again?? (answering other question first, i can get it now with the d15, or wait for a b16 since it's different, if it is?)

Thanks.

Still wondering if this works?

I been looking for things w/ a b16 that has A/C ... not many around for cheap though.

Was wondering if maybe the A/C and Cruise control will work from an Accord, Prelude, or acura integra from similiar years? 92-97 , for my 93 del sol.

Please help me out!

The only difference might be how the compressor mounts to the engine, but I think even that is the same. Do you have the cast iron plate on the lower front of the engine with the 4 holes for the compressor? It is part of the bottom front motor mount.

All the other parts mount to the body of the car, so they would stay the same when you swap engines. There is no A/C computer. All 92 to 95 Civics are pre-wired for A/C up to a plug on the right front fender which would plug into a harness that goes across the front of the car to the compressor and condenser. The control panel even has the A/C button. If the car didn't come with A/C at the factory it will have a plastic cover over the button.

If you look at hondaautomotiveparts dot com you can see drawings of the various parts. You may still have the evaporator box inside the car, the previous owner might not have removed it. If you have one there will be an aluminum block projecting through an oval hole in the firewall behind the battery.

Factory cruise systems use wiring in the car harness. If you don't have cruise wires in your harness it's going to be simpler to fit an aftermarket system.
