first off. do you have an aftermarket cd player?? if so what kind? Lots of new cd players are coming out with aux. you can buy the male rca to headphone jack at radioshack. best buy, circuit city, batteries included.

Anything that will play on your ipod, will work thru the aux input. All you're doing with an aux input is listening to your ipod thru the car speakers instead of headphones.
Exactly. It does not matter where the music comes from this way. Also, just to clarify, the cassette adapter doesnt actually hold tracks on it. Theres a little wire that attaches it to the iPod. It will be about the same quality sound as the radio transmitter. I would have gotten this kind, but my civic's antenna sucks nutties, and I wanted an excuse to splurge, heh.

Itunes songs/music are formated in mp4 and for you to burn them on a disc and have it work you have to convert them but as far as hand held devices such as a Ipod playing through your aux input should work.

Yes after a song is loaded and able to play on your ipod, you can connect that ipod to your stereo (using an aux cable, radio transmitter, or cassette adapter) and it will play thru the car speakers. Again it is just amplifying the analog signal that would've gone to the headphones. The car stereo doesn't need to convert the format or anything.

You should use the aux cable option whenever your head unit supports it as it is least expensive and also has the best sound quality.

Looks like a nice unit. If you buy exactly that one, the input will be on the back so you will need to plug that end of the cable in when you install it, then run the cable out to somewhere in the car where you will set the ipod.
