well... some people pull the bulbs out to hide them even more.....
with it pulled from the tube its only slightly larger than the lead in a pencil

best way to find a spot... is to power them up.... and hold the bulbs with some tape and find a good spot to your liking

i got the 12" ones. and the thing is, i already have LED's under my seats. but the way they're mounted they kinda shine up. so the light isnt really on the floor. i was hoping to put the cathodes up under the dash somewhere but i cant find anything to mount them to. so idk. i cant even find anything that i could zip tie them to.

i thnk i rememebr you sayin you didnt want to use the tape, but you might have to use the tape on there already and then zip tie them up. On my passenger side i drilled a coupe holes in the plastic part of my lower dash sectionand put zip ties through the holes then back around the cathodes. You cant see the zipties and its a quick install, exactly how you want (cuz i drilled the holes). On the driver side i didnt do a perfect install, i just got the cathode as straight/parallel to the floor as possible and ziptied it agaisnt some insulated wires (dont worry, its not like a hot tube against bare wire or anything), and it still shines perfect. Thats why i like cathodes, you dont need to put them exactly straight and they dont have hotspots like LEDs
