is it normal to be so rusty under the dash the metal frames? is there anyway to clean that up

but if you just sand it the metal will just rust again. Might want to paint it but i dont see why you are concerned you cant see it

He asked how to clean it up, not how to keep it from rusting again, so that's the answer I gave him.

thanks i meant to clean and make it look better if it wasnt normal but being that it is normal i wont touch it. i was getting scared thinking my car had a leak or something

Well, to clarify... It's not "normal," but it's common. It's not suppose to be like that, but it happens to pretty much all Civics (at least before 2001, that I know of).
