COMPLETE audio conformation 'check'
Hey guys, I want a nut's sound system. That thread the other day about banning sound systems made me up the anny even more. I mean, can you truely ever have enough power? This is a PM Mike sent me. I complety trust this guy, I just wanted some other member's to douple check this and mybe suggest some things I have forgotten.
"That being said, here are some quality items that will get you up and running and still within your budget.
1. Phoneix Gold Amp - 500W x 1 for your subwoofers running at 2 ohms
2. 2 MTX 15's (subwoofers) 300W each, 4 ohms each
3. Phoneix Gold 6 1/2 speakers for your doors and rear deck
4. Phoenix Gold Amp 80W x 4 to push your door and rear deck speakers
5. Prestige Alarm with shock sensor, keyless remote fricking loud *** siren
6. Boss Audio or Alphasonic electronic crossover (to make sure you send the right frequencies to the right amp & speakers). These arent the best brands but there is no need to spend lots of money on a crossover since they are all pretty much the same.
7. Raptor 1 Farad Capacitor (to help take the load off your car battery).
8. Street Wires Amp wiring kit(s) & distribution block so you can run one wire off battery to block and then run both amps off block
I didnt provide prices because if you are waiting until summer, these prices could change up or down. I think we could get you into all of the above and still fit in your price range. Because you want so much stuff, I would be willing to give you some price breaks to fit into your budget, and because you are a HCF member.

if your running to 15s i would recommend a more powerfull amp than a 500w. i have one 12 mtx 5500 series in a ported box with a ma audio x class 1400w mono block. the gain would need to be turned up too much to get it loud with that small of an amp, which would lead to overheating and possibly (most likely) frying the amp.
but yeah the rest of the stuff will give you great sound quality. pheonix gold is a good brand

Sweet. We got a community thread going now lol.
ef4life makes a good statement about more power. We all want more power, but I'm not willing to push a potential customer more power for the sake of quality and longevity. To me, MA Audio falls into that "questionable" category because I have rarely encountered anyone with such amp and have not heard positive remarks about them. I guess that brand falls along with Vibe, American Legacy and Lanzar. Some have good experiences with them, some end of throwing them agains the wall.
Now, looking at my post to civicboy, I realized I mispoke and didnt give him the amp I was looking at. I should have posted the Phoenix Gold 800 x 1, not the 500 X 1. But then again, at 800 x 1, that puts us into the next step up for MTX speakers being able to handle that load.
The parameters I was given by civicboy (budget) just doesnt allow us to go "best of breed" on everthing since he wants the whole shabang at once but has a set dollar limit. These suggestions were to maintain quality without exceeding a set budget.
My mentality just doesnt allow me to push someone beyond their needs and pockets. I want to build a rapport with you guys and not be seen as just some shmuck who makes a sale and vanishes. Thats just not my style, and it never has been.
Civicboy, I will respond to your PM in a bit.

i love my ma audio amp. i never had a problem with any of their products, the amp is the best ive ever owned, it never gets hot when i pound my sub all day long. i have the gain a little over the half way point,
PS i wasn't trying to sell ma audio products i was making a statement about my amp with more power. a 500 watt amp wouldn't last a long time pushing 2 15's if used to its potential often, i was recommending a more powerful amp but with good quality like the phoenix gold 800 you mentioned

MTX subs suck too, what is your budget on a amp and subs and I will find a much better setup that that. The PG amp is ok I guess but I am not a fan of their lower line stuff. I once had a PG 1200.1 Tantrum and it was a solid amp, one of the best I have had. But I dont care for their Octane series stuff.
THe subs are actually a good beginners choice since the MTX brand can generally take a beating. However, I disagree with the size of them. I think that 2 MTX 7500 10's will be perfect. Now that will blow your eyes out of their sockets big time.
