That mouse maze box is sick. What's that vent tuned at? like 10hz? It's prolly deep. It looks sweet, though. Did you plexi the top so everyone could see your work? And what shop do you work for and where?

 

i was getting ready to ask where the mice were, lol. it looks like it would hammer though. better than the hatch box i am rolling with. but then again, i'm not trying to get thrown out of the windshield from all the bass. looks good man. how does it sound?

 

im not sure what the port ended up being. the first nick name for tha box was actually the "hammer box", but the "tranny box" is what sstuck. me and the boyz at DCA(Dedicated Car Audio) built the box. Its my own company out of Solon,OH. There are 3 of us and we have some slave workers too lol. I was busy the day we got it rated so all i know was the db level.

no it was covered with MDF not plexi. and we actually dont even use it for show. we just got bored one day and did it. It stands about 4 feet high in dans room.

 

Dude, that thing is ****in cool. Ohio, huh? I want to come ot there and check out your shops. I work in a shop at Newport Beach, Ca. I wish we had time to build that stuff. We only get customers (usually soccer moms with tahoes) that want headrest monitors. It gets so boring. I miss the good ol' days when customers used to come in and throw down cash to have a custom job done. Over here, at least in our area, bass has phased out. It's all about video, and kids don't care about bass anymore. Props dude.

 

lol sounds like a pain to me. theres no shops, just 1 two car place we use. we still do alot of cars in the area. ill hope to take it over and move it to the next level

 

i dont have a shop but my ****in friends are always liek "Yo bro im goin to get some subs...u wanna help me build a box?".


its fun for me but i always seem to get paid with beer. (not that its a bad thing)

Im willing to bet that box really kicks a$$ and im not a fan of ports either.

 

a 1/4 wave transmission line. Nice for home audio but too damn big for car audio purposes to use in anything other then crappy *** 12s and below. Try building a 1/4 wave pipe for a high end 15 with an f/s of 15.5hz. Try building a folded horn enclosure, yields 6db efficiency over a ported design
