I have not decided wether I will be getting an Accord or a Civic. This thread isn't about which to get, but wether it is possible to install a TV somewhere in the dash, and keep the stock headunit. Although if the civic is unlike the Accord in which you don't need to change out the entire dash to install a new radio, I may just get a flip out with a built in amp. I am wondering more if anyone has found a place to install an in dash monitor. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

There is a guy that did it actually... super clean looking BUT incredibly pain staking custom job... Why would you want a stock headunit if you would use the in-dash tv as your headunit? In a 7th gen civic (which I own) I was thinking of taking out my head unit and the little CD holder thing that fills in space and just put an in dash tv in it for navigation.. but I dont ever take the civic where I need directions!

 

The reason I would want to keep the stock HU, is b/c in the Accord the stock HU has a LCD that controls both the radio and A/C. To put in a new radio you have to take that entire panel, replacing all the A/C controls and the radio. The new panel is really ugly, and doesn't have the dual climate controls. From the pix I have seen of the Civic, its the same. If its not the same, then I'll prolly just replace the HU with a flip out. I'm not sure I will be getting this car.

 

I went to see the civic today, I don't even fit it in. My head hits the roof even in the one with out the sun roof. I fit perfectly in the Accord, which I will be getting. Being 6'5 sucks. Thanks anyways guys, mods feel free to close this thread.

 

I know your trouble, I'm just a little shorter than you but I fit pretty snug in the civic... I might die if I had to drive it very long distances because I cant stretch my legs! The accord is going to be a longer car!
