ok. i dont know much about what the better brands of speaker so i asking for some help. i am looking to spend about $250 on some speakers and a better amp. my friend wonts to sell his lightning audios LA1.12.4 12's both to me for $100. the box info says.
12-inch 1,000-watt super woofer
Cast-aluminum basket
Rigid polypropelene cone
Rubber surround
2-inch voice coil diameter
Magnet: 90 ounces
Recommended enclosure 1 cubic foot, sealed
Recommended enclosure 1.5 cubic feet ported with a 4-inch round port 15.5 inches long
i have never heard of this brand so i dont know if i should get it. there not in a box.
Are is there anything better for $100-$150.

They actually sound OK in the right enclosure, , they are not very "hearty" though.. they dont handle abuse very well ( voice coils overheat/melt easily with extended play time)
I have seen them used in many systems, not very high sound output, other subs with the same power/setup put out more sound, but of course also cost more money. Just looking at/feeling the sub, they feel like a toy. very light thin basket. just does not hold up.

thx for the info. i did not know there were at wal mart. not saying that it means that thay are bad but i find wal mart stuff cheaply made. i was looking at this site and found the speakers. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=14493. there not that cheap are so thay say. guess u cant find good speaker for $100?

What!? your search is over. <--- that is the most impressive subwoofer I have ever heard for under $300
