Lightbulb Finger print scanner

Would it be possible to use a finger print scanner for your ignition instead of a key?
it would be pretty sweet if you could

well tho it could be done.... but so many electronic relays and computer parts as well as mechanical parts..... well it would be way to much hassle on a older car.... but on a new car with all there electronics its very posible for a new car!!!

well good luck on that. IMO your wasting alot of cash... one ya still need exterior key or remote to get into the car, two youll have to break the steering lock, customize the whole ignition, needless to say try it out on a golf cart or atv first before you hack up a good car!

lol, cool idea.
At my work we have a fingerprint scanner to use to punch in on the clock and punch out. It's pretty tiny and doesn't look THAT complicated. But I can see where the difficulties would lie in installing one in a car.
