Getting power from battery to cabin, 99 Civic LX
Hi there. Can anyone provide some pointers in getting power for my amp from the battery into the cabin? I ran some speaker wire from the car doors to a hole on the driver side, but other than that, I can't find another hole to run my power through.... I popped out a rubbed plug and poked a hole through that floorboard material, but it seemed to dead end into some air conditioner related stuff.
Any pointers?

its eastiest to go through passenger door or take it thru the center of the dash and poke a hole in one of the rubber plugs..
than you can run it under the carpet or thru the plastic mouldings but it really simple lol hard to explain though....

Man, I looked everywhere, short of getting underneath the car. There are two rubbed plugs, one on the driver side and one on the passenger side. The driver side plug is being occupied with my speaker wires (which I don't wanna run near power) and the passenger side plug, while close to the battery, leads to nothing...

take your battery out, and there should be a rubber plug on the firewall. That does go through, believe me, i put 4 gauge wire through there
Have someone help you. It's more fun, easier and way way less stressful.
edit: Haha maybe just PM about this stuff lol. I think I've done everything to a 99 LX that you are doing

I had to pull the battery and battery tray to find the stock harness grommet to run my 1/0 wire through. While I was at it I pulled the passenger seat too so I had full access to the carpet. I am about to go and gut the car again to pull the rear deck speakers out and try to figure out a way to stop that plastic from rattling so dang much.

I'm not sure if you guys have a different model of car than me, but I did pull the battery earlier today, and didn't see anything behind it. I didn't pull the tray though... that'll be my next step before drilling, though that scares me just a little.

Most car audio places will just drill threw your fire wall. Its pretty easy I'll take a pic. of mine tomorrow if you want. You simply just find a bit that is a little bigger than your wire and drill on the drivers side. The pic. that I'm going to take will explain a lot.

Cool, I'll keep my eye out for a pic. That'd definitely be awesome. I'd definitely prefer to keep the power on the passenger side, as it will be run on the passenger side anyways and would save a bit of length than running it from battery to driver side back over to passenger side again. Either way though, I'd like to see whatcha got. Maybe I have enough length. Thanks for your time!

pull the battery and battery box for the best way into the cab....
3 bolts holding the battery box down,
use something small and sharp to poke thru the inside gromet CLEAR FROM THE WIRES!!!!! poke it thru the center of the vehicle side.
then when your sure the probe clears everything then use a knife or something sharp to make a larger slit and then push the wire thru from the inside of the cab.
easier this way since you dont have to pull the WHOLE LENGTH of the power wire thru the firewall.
just be sure to move the wire clear of the battery box when you reinstall it.
