they guy who installed them said everythings hooked up correctly. we tried grounding it in several places but no power goes to the subs...might the wires be bad? what could be causing no power to go to the subs?

You cant ground it? In your trunk just look for a bolt to run the ground from your amp to, make sure you get some of the paint under the bolt scraped off for a good connection.

Dude, please try and explain better. Is there power to the amplifier driving the sub woofers? Or are you saying there is power to the amp, but no noise is coming out the subs?

Is there a fuse in the fuse holder that SHOULD be up by the battery? If so did the remote turn on wire get hooked up to the deck properly so the amp comes on when the deck is on? Definately need more clarity to the situation.

sand off a piece of steel so that its completely bare steel, then use a self-tapping screw with a washer and screw the wire right down to it

try checkin the fuse on the amp and the fuse that is on the battery(if you have one)...if not try to connect it in sumone elsesz car and see if the amplifier turnsz on and if it doesnt then that means there is sumthin wrong with the amplifier.
