Default Head Unit

Hey guys. I was just wondering what a good ipod capable headunit would be to get and where to get it. Should i look on ebay or just go for best buy?

I'd just go to Best Buy and buy an Alpine. They have a couple decks that are Ipod ready. I have an Apline and love it.

eBay is the place for stereo equipment- Alpine's, etc. are MUCH cheaper that route (if you know how to install, that is).
Everything I hear is that the newer Alpines are the best for iPod control, plus the cable is only $30 (not control box, it's built in)

If you go the Ebay route, be careful. Even if they have a great rating, you could get screwed.

Pioneer head units suck. Pioneer used to be a great, reliable brand... Not anymore. Trust me, I would not waste my money on another Pioneer deck.

Alpine's are still pretty good quality for the price, but Eclipse is really where it's at. By far the best bang for your buck. Check out the new line up at Crutchfield or somewhere else. Many of them are Ipod comaptible. They're all very high quality, and sound amazing.

I just bought the Pioneer deck with Ipod adapter.. www.pricegrabber.com .. gives you lowest price with warranty.. but for the deck i bought it was within 20 bucks of CircuitCity .. so i just got mine there.. but some other items on pricegrabber are over 100 cheaper than Local stores and brand new with warranty..

I like the Alpine/Ebay combo. I bought a Alpine that at the time was going for around $500 for around $240 shipped brand new in the box.
