Default Headlights auto off?

(95 lx) So bear with me, my girl friend always forgets to turn off the headlights (The car parks underneath a bright parking lot light). I want to design a circuit to prevent this problem from happening again. I want to use a relay (N.O.), the coil will be energized by a circuit powered when the key is turned. I will break the wire from the headlight switch and wire it to the relay. This way even if the lights are left on, the key being removed will disable the circuit. I was also considering using a piezo siren, which would sound when the key is removed and the light switch is left on, but I think designing this circuit will be a little more difficult.

Another question, when the headlight switch is closed, it goes to a relay right? What color is the headlight switch wire, I think it is red/white?

Damn. Sounds like a good project. Isn't there a chime when you leave your lights on and removed the key from the ignition?

No, only a chime when the door is ajar with the key in the ignition.

VERY EASY... i actualy got a kit.... ive just never used it YET... but do plan on geting it instaled in my civic

DEI 545T

splice into the headlight control wiring under the dash.. then run a sensor onto the dash... and your golden! never have to turn ON your headlights again... that way you never leave them ON cause you never turned them ON they turn themselves ON [8D]

NOT mine... but thiers the only one on ebay i see right now...

you can also wire them into the wipers.... so when the wipers are ON your headlights are turned on also...
they also have a daytime driving light feature which is stupid.... BUT can be deleted by simply cutting a small red wire....
