HID LIGHTS
I'm interested in putting HID headlights in my car but i don't know much on this subjet. Should i get a conversion kit or can i just swap bulbs? Any good references where to shop around? Any info would be great, its just that i desire the brighter headlights and i like the blue/white look the give off.
this website is pretty good for hids. pretty easy to install too. http://www.oznium.com/hid
Keep in mind the headlight assembly is not designed for an HID bulb. Yes you'll have nice bright (blue) light coming off of the front of your car, but befor you start put your car in front of a garage door, make some marks with masking tape on the door to outline the beam pattern, as well as the glare on top of the beam. Then do the same with the HIDs you will se a huge diff. The glare will blind you (the folks coming at you) I did a conversion in my 06. 8K bulbs after the swap I could hardly drive in the rain, and the snow....holy Jesus. I ended up covering the top 2.5 inches of my headlights with black sign vinal to stop the glare. My light lit up the tree tops.

Its not illegal to have bright headlights. lots of new cars have them.

The reason these HID kits are illegal is cause the headlight was never designed for a bulb of that sort, and they just throw light out everywhere, and have glare which can blind oncomming traffic. Cars with OEM HID's have been designed for it, and have a cutoff so it does not blind other drivers.
If you want real HID info then go to www.HIDPlanet.com/forums become a member, and read through everything in the university section

It's not against the law to make a dollar......
and laws do vary area to area. It's not just about being "bright" It's about dangerous (how ever the hell you spell it)
Have you ever seen the disclaimer "for off road use only" ? Thats all it takes.
