Default how does this sound

Apline head unit(unsure of model number)
JL components in the doors
already have poineer 6x9's in the back window
and a 8" sub right behind middle consol. in the middle of the back, on the floor, yanno?

do 8" subs still give good bass? could some one compare it to my 6x9s i have right now?

I personaly would go with a 10, but thats me. 1 10 sounds pretty good, I don't see many 8's anymore.

I would say 1 8 would compare to 2 amped 6x9's installed correctly. 6x9's actualy sound pretty decent bass wise, but they can be overloaded if your not careful, and distort like crap.

Any reason you choose an 8?

very true
an 8 and two 6x9s are close
but I have seen two DD audio 8s hit 142 decibels before, so you never know
but im assuming you're not an audiophile that would know how to do that lol
heck, even after 3 or 4 years I don't think I'm 100% sure on how to build a box for an 8 that can do that :/

i want a 8" becuase it will fit nice in the middle on the floor in the back seat area.

a 10" is considerably larger(2" makes it alot bigger) and would not fit as nice i don't think.

if i do go for a 10" can i just turn the bass down if its too much or will that not sound very good?

ok well i thought up a different design for a box, it is the correct volume and will fit a 10" sub in the cab. would this be too much for that tiny little space?

i figured it for a kicker solobaric, but would consider a round sub as well?

what sounds better?

kicker solobaric due to the fact that it's a square covers more space than a 10 inch round sub, if anything that type of kicker is closer to an 11 or 12 than a 10
why not just put a sub in the trunk?
difference in sound b/w round subs and squares is hard to tell
i've heard a lot of discussion that a round sub sounds better but i'm not all too sure

Eh, unlikely
my alpine type X is powered by 500 watts rms or so
i get very little trunk rattle and plenty enough bass to hear
of course you won't feel your seat shake like crazy, but you do feel a little bump
