I just parallel wired the stock tweeters in my 1997 Civic EX off of the front door speakers since my aftermarket head unit was rated for 2 ohms. If I decide to add an amp and possibly a sub, I will run new wires for the aftermarket door speakers and leave the tweeters connected to the amp on the head unit.

The only problem I see in your situation is if you have the 2 ohm infiinity speakers like I have in my other vehicle. If you already have a 2 ohm stereo load, then wiring the factory tweeter in parallel to your door speakers may cause problems with your head unit.

dont hook it up to your door speakers.... tweeters are designed to play 2500hz and up..... if you run full range to em there just gonna die in a matter of time.... tweeters usually come with a crossover .... if you dont have it dont use em

If you have the crossover why can't you wire them to the door speakers? I am wanting to know myself because I have a set of tweeters coming in the mail and they come with crossovers.

get some bass blockers for the tweets cuz as mentioned they will be ruined. I do have a set of jl crossovers sitting around without speakers, they were in my car when I bought it. I just put in mb quart mids and tweets in my doors and to get good sound you should have a full component set. If you wanna buy the crossovers pm me.

Oops, I forgot to mention that my tweeters are crossed over AND they are only hooked up to the radio power, just like the door speakers. I am going to have to rethink that strategy if/when I add an amp to the car.
