Default I give up - Which CD player will fit?

Tried searching, but since the search function deletes all small words like "cd", I struck out. I have a 1994 Civic DX 4dr, and want to install a factory Honda CD radio. I don't car about the plug (I plan on rewiring with a newer style plug) but what year CD player will fit in the hole in my dash without modification? I plan on using an adapter from installer.com for the newer style CD radio plug, so which year and model CD player will fit properly? Thanks!

John

Any single DIN size radio should fit in there. Which I know for sure is 92-00 civics at least.

I know it's not a cd player, but I have a 92-95 Honda tape/radio if you are interested.

Thanks, but I really need the CD. My car had the radio ripped out prior to me buying it, so all I have is wires. I have to put in a plug anyway, so I figured I could put in the newer plug, and get a newer CD player for it. So I guess I can start looking for any Honda CD with single din? If anyone else knows what other vehicles will fit, let me know. I also will have to put in a new antenna wire, it was cut too. I wonder how hard that is going to be? Thanks!

anyway, why don't you just get an aftermarket cd player? it would cost less and be better quality
and they come with a plug

My son is going to be driving this car starting next year. The school and part of town he will be working in is notorious for radio thefts. Soooo, I figure a stock looking radio in the car wouldn't draw too much attention, and hopefully they would skip it and go onto the next car (not a high demand for 15 year old Honda CD players...) Also, I have seen the stock Honda CD players go for about $50 on eBay, and if I got a newer one, he would want iPod inputs, new speakers, etc. Figure I could cheap out for a few years until he gets a few paychecks and can do it himself.

the 92-95 honda civic radio will fit for sure. some of the 99-00 single din units might work with the changing of the plug, and im not sure if radios before 92 will fit or not, but I know for sure that none of the 96-98 and 01 + will fit.

the 96-98 is odd shaped specifically for the dash, some of the 99-00 are double din, the 01-05 is odd shaped again, and the 06 + is built into the dash except for the nav which is double din, so none of these will fit.

oh and none of the ones that old will have the ipod hook up

hmm, i have an idea. get an inexpensive aftermarket cd player, and buy a honda radio block off plate. then find a way to mount the cd player about 1cm futher back, and when he gets out of the car he can put the radio block off plate over the stereo. Then it will look like he doesn't even have a stereo.
