Default iPod Connection

Ok so this past weekend i purchased the Belkin TuneFM for my ipod. now the thing works fine, but it says that it gives CD quality sound... i was a little skeptical at first.. and there was a reason for that... it doesn't, now anyone who listens to the radio all the time would not notice a thing, but when i listen to CD's in my car the stereo never goes above 30(max is 50) i connect the ipod to the TuneFM and i can turn it up to 50 on the same song as the cd has and it isn't even close to the volume of the cd. now as i stated anyone who has a factory sound system and normally listens to their radio this would be fine for if they wanna use their ipod. But if you have an aftermarket sound system. and listen to CD's then you will deffinately notice a difference.
Belkin TuneFM

SO i did some reasearch and found that ANY JVC headunit that has CD changer option can us the JVC iPod Connection KS-PD100 for their headunit, i purchase one off of eBay and am waiting for it now. it connects to the cd changer plug and charges the ipod as well. I will post more on how easy it is to install and how good it works when i get it.... Also i should point out that it was $42.99US on eBay after shipping(to Canada) Compared to the $59.99CAD before tax for the TuneFM.... Update should be arround the 22 or so, the estimated arrival time for the shipping is the 21st

This is what I've trying to tell you all. Transmitters suck. For me, I bought a 2006 $144 ipod-ready Alpine headunit off eBay (included shipping). All you need to do is plug the ipod in and lock it in ur glove box; you control the ipod from the Head unit itself, no adapter what so ever

make sure the volume on your ipod is all the way up, and if its not that. go into your settings on your ipod and raise the maxium volume setting.

Well i got the iPod connector this morning. and just finished installing it, the actual install for it on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 0.5... now finding somewhere to hide it in the dash is another thing. i put mine behind where i have my Sub controls which is where the ashtray should be but i took out the ashtray. I then routed the ipod connector cord under the shifter console and put it up through next to the ebrake, where the little popout parts are. i used a dremmel to make a hole the size of the connector cable to make it a clean fit.

Audio quiality i havent tested fully yet, but i did test it for about 30 seconds, it still isn't CD quality but the sound quality is 500% better then the fm transmitter. and i would say it is about 3/4 CD quality.

All in all if someone has an ipod and a JVC headunit, i would deffinately recomend this to them. same price if not cheeper then a fm transmitter, better sound quality and still charged the ipod[sm=smiley20.gif]
