Default ipod interface over OEM HU

Hi all, i've been searching thru all threads here trying to find a thing or two about ipod interfaces but most of the posts i see are about changing ipod ready headunits and connecting them. I own an 05 LX with OEM HU and i saw some devices in the net and ebay about ipod interfaces. These devices connects your ipod as a CD changer to your stock HU and let's you control the ipod thru the stock HU (cool). I've seen Buslink, Dension, USA Spec. and others. My question is did anyone tried doing this and are these devices any good? I wanted to connect my ipod w/o changing my HU. (money for HU will go to 4 speakers )

there are kits on the market that will let you use your OEM stereo while connecting to an iPod as a harddrive.

go to www.ilounge.com and do a search.

i think the fastest easiest and most practical way to do it is either an aux or rca cable. i went the rca route for my old school sony xplod head unit (you know one of the first flip down head units that looks black when its closed). it was a quick and easy installation. the only thing that it lacks is a place to put your ipod. but i think the cable i bought was 15 bux. that way you could save some serious money for some seriously nice speakers. ha

I installed the Monster iCruze on my factory stereo on a 02 DX. Like you said, it uses the CD changer plug and you control the ipod with your HU controls for the CD changer. I really like it, there are a few things I think are annoying, but overall it is great. I also have the LCD Screen that they sell with it and I mounted it in the bottom tray by the sig lighter and it looks really awesome. I bought it over 1 1/2 yrs ago and I got it on sale for $100 (it was normally over $300 for the kit).. I can't seem to find it on their site, but a little ad says starting at $80 now. worth checking out i feel.

thanks for replying. I don't know if there is an RCA input at the back of my OEM headunit. can someone post a rear view of how an 05 lx stereo looks like. this is not limited edition so it is just the regular black weird rectagular (not so rectagular but slanting on the right side) factory head unit.
