Do you have an aftermarket stereo that's iPod ready, or is it stock? If it's a new civic it will have an auxilary jack, and then you can just buy a cable, and plug it right in.

I have a Pioneer premier deck in my car and I spent $20 for an aux cord and it plugs right in!

you could also use a fm transmitter, you might get a bit of static but are very convenient. i have an aux input in my sony radio i use, and in my jeep i have my alpine with the ipod box that charges it and you control it through the headunit. that will only play the music.

if you are refering how to get video out onto a screen i have no clue
